Caribbean Cabinet Secretaries and Heads of Public Service consultative meeting
Location: Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
Date: 6–8 May 2009
Delegates at this meeting will discuss the global economic crisis and its impact on their respective government’s plans and priorities. They will deliberate the pros and cons of economic stimulus packages, revamping the agricultural sector for economic development, as well as potential development assistance from the World Bank for the Caribbean region. Those present will also examine public-private partnerships (PPPs) and how governments can tap into private sector funds for infrastructure projects. Finally, this meeting will address how the Commonwealth Secretariat can provide assistance to Caribbean countries in developing their public services.
