Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting
Location: St Lucia
Date: 6-8 October 2008
This annual event, always held prior to a World Bank and International Monetary Fund meeting, provides a forum for exchange of views on the major economic issues of the day and international and domestic policy challenges. This year Finance Ministers will be focusing on key international financial issues including reform of the Bretton Woods Institutions, and addressing the repercussions in their respective economies of current high food and fuel prices. Other meetings between Central Bank Governors and Senior Finance Officials as well as the Commonwealth Ministerial Debt Sustainability Forum will also take place in the fringes of this meeting.

Commonwealth Public Service Ministers Forum
Location: Bridgetown, Barbados
Date: 23 October 2008
This year’s Forum on public sector development will focus on the importance of building strong networks and managing relationships within an increasingly complex governance environment. In light of the growing networks of active participants in promoting good governance across the Commonwealth, the theme for this year’s Forum attended by Public Service Ministers is ‘Managing relationships for good governance and development’.
