The Commonwealth Youth Programme aims to empower young people in decision-making processes affecting their social, economic and political well-being.

The 2008 Biennale of Education in Africa: Focus on Post-Primary Education
Location: Maputo, Mozambique
Date: 5 May - 9 May 2008
The 2008 Biennale will focus on post-primary education and training, one of the greatest challenges facing African education systems today. It will present to the African educational community the most recent tools, knowledge and practices that are liable to bring continent-wide progress in post-primary education. The meeting will be attended by ministers of education and training of all countries in Africa, senior representatives of bilateral and multilateral development agencies, academics and practitioners from foundations, research networks, NGOs and civil society organizations.

Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting: E-health
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Date: 18 May 2008
This meeting will explore the challenges and opportunities of e-health technology in the Commonwealth. It will focus on a range of e-health applications, the ethical, legal and infrastructural challenges faced when introducing e-health, and the financial and intellectual property issues that must be considered prior to the introduction of new information technologies. This meeting will be attended by the Commonwealth’s 53 Ministers of Health, senior health officials and global and regional health partners. Archbishop Tutu will be delivering the keynote address at this meeting.
