Leadership and Change in the Public Sector
Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Date: 25 February – 7 March 2008
The programme will explore how different countries tackle dilemmas arising from efforts to improve service delivery, develop capable civil services, decentralise decision-making, foster good governance and encourage leadership. Victoria University of Wellington, the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Co-operation and the New Zealand Agency for International Development are offering this programme for ministers and senior officials from Commonwealth countries and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region who are leading reform and change in the public sector.

Commonwealth Week is an opportunity to promote understanding on global issues, international co-operation and the work of the Commonwealth, which aims to improve the lives of its 2 billion citizens. ‘The Environment – our future’ is the theme for this year’s Commonwealth Week.
Events taking place throughout the week include a multi-faith observance at Westminster Abbey and a lecture from Dr David Suzuki, an award winning scientist, environmentalist and broadcaster, at the London School of Economics.
